On our first outing in the Senior championship of 2021 Shandonagh proved to be the stronger outfit against Caulry. There was a great mix of experience and youth with stalwart Alan Hickey togging out alongside Daniel Scahill and Jake Costello who both made their Senior Championship debuts. It was a close fought game although Shandonagh always looked to be in control. With Castlerea natives, David Scahill and Shane Curran, facing off in their respective managerial roles, David Scahill's charges proved to be the better overall team. Shandonagh's bench proved to be very effective with the finishing 14 players showing that they were as strong as the starting 15. Speedy recovery to Maitiu Scully, who suffered an injury in the 1st half and had been playing great football up until then. The game finished 3.12 to 3.07 in favour of Shandonagh. Rosemount are our next opponents and we are all looking forward to stepping up to the mark for this test.
