Our senior team continued their league campaign with a defeat at home against Shamrocks on Saturday evening.

The visitors opened the half with two scores early on. An excellent point from corner forward Ryan Donnelly put Shandonagh on the scoreboard. Brian Kavanagh converted a penalty which put the sides level after 15 mins. A well worked score from Caelum Faughnan edged Shandonagh in front. However this was as good as it got as Shandonagh were then reduced to 14 men and Shamrocks pushed on with 3 scores in quick succession. They went in two points ahead at half time on a scoreline of 1-2 to 0-7.

Shamrocks converted a penalty early in the second half stretching their lead. Shandonagh responded with a free and an excellent score from Brian Kavanagh. But Shamrocks remained in control and were 6 points ahead mid-way through the 2nd half. Shamrocks proved too strong in the second half with an extra man securing a comfortable seven point win with the game finishing on a scoreline of 1-04 to 1-11.
